The idea behind neko nation was to create an anime club event in australia that truly catered for anime fans.the event got dj's on board to play a variety of genres and styles of music, such as k-pop, j-pop, j-rock, j-core, as well as plenty of meme, gaming and anime songs and remixes that fans could easily recognise.to create an atmosphere amv's were played in the venue, prizes were given away to those who dressed up and danced but most importantly What's an anime event without fan service though?so we have super sexy catgirls serving free sushi!neko nation has now expanded from a local perth show to put on shows australia wide. we've proven critics wrong that claim that anime fans don't want go out! December 2010catalystic announced the first neko nation in perth and released the first poster as seen on the right.feburary 2011our first show was held in bar 138 which ended up being a great success to a crowd of over 100 people. saccharine, a catgirl who flew over from adelaide for our event, held first talks with catalystc about putting on a show in adelaide.may 2011adelaide held it's first show at live on light square, in a massive two roomed event that saw double the attendance of perth! The event was received as a huge success. Perth also held a neko nation at the end of the month and saw a crowd that hit maximum capacity at bar 138!June 2011Catalystic, the founder of Neko Nation moves over to Adelaide to live with Saccharine. Adelaide becomes the hometown of Neko Nation, which was cause of huge celebrations in terms of more shows being promised in Adelaide.july 2011Neko Nation announces plans to visit the eastern states and for more shows between september to december 2011. This includes new improved venues for shows, new national sponsors such as Tokyo Hardcore, Siren Visual and Attitude Oz.Neko Nation owners launch Tokyo Hardcore after a trip to Japan earlier in the month. Tokyo Hardcore is a lolita superstore based in Adelaide and also saw a record number of ticket sales for the next Neko Nation Adelaide show.August 2011Neko Nation launches in Melbourne at the Tokyo Hardcore stall at Manifest. Ticket sales for Adelaide keep growing stronger and stronger.September 2011Neko Nation puts on it's second show in Adelaide and gets even greater attendance than last time. The show was a huge success and Adelaide Neko Nation launches it's fifth show ever with a new show in Perth. Neko Nation launches it's new v2.0 setup. The setup was upgraded from the simple dj setup to the new stage setup which also saw on-stage projectors and dancing catgirls! The event was the biggest one yet (and longest if you include the freeplay arcade 6 hour afterparty afterwards! and was a huge success.October 2011Neko Nation debuts in Neko Nation Melbourne. While there was positive feedback from event Goers, the turnout was the smallest yet. Neko Nation is looking to completely overhaul the event before returning to Melbourne in 2012.Neko Nation Brisbane got cancelled for 2011 due to the venue shutting down in the lead up to the event. However a show was announced for February 2012.Tokyo Hardcore, launches up their store at the end of the month, this also becomes the office for Neko Nation.November 2011Neko Nation launches in Brisbane at Supanova via Tragic Beautiful. The event attracted a great deal of attention and got some big local names on board from the rave and alternative scene.Catalystic made a decision to completely overhaul the Neko Nation Adelaide event, Promising the biggest and best show for quite a while. This included a change of venue, a new music format and to put a greater emphasis on the sound, lighting and visuals on the night.Tokyo Hardcore becomes a ticket hub for Neko Nation, and starts selling cat ears perfect for Neko Nation. neko Nation also hits 1,000 likes on Facebook.December 2011Neko Nation attracts the attention of I Got Superpowers and AV-Con TV, who would be taking video footage from Neko Nation Adelaide, the end results are currently on our homepage!Neko Nation adelaide takes place receving amazing reviews from everyone who went! The event lived up to the hype, featuring a massive attendance, 14 DJ's, 8 catgirls and the biggest production budget behind a show yet, The event featured people travelling from Perth and Melbourne to come to this show!
